Abstract

Pycamilon induces a significant increase in cerebral blood flow in conscious animals.  Cerebrovascular effect of pycamilon is more potent and durable than that of GABA, nicotinic acid, cinnarizin, nicergoline, xanthinol nicotinate, dihydroetgotoxin, and papaverin.  Under pycamilon action there was observed the reduction in neurogenic spasms of cerebrovascular vessels accompanied by the inhibition of tonic activity and reflectory discharges in sympathetic nerves.  Pycamilon recovers the cerebral has disturbed by serotonin.
